What are Bike4All rides?

2nd Sunday of every month, at 10:00
Praça Duque de Saldanha (in front of Atrium Saldanha)

Starting cycling in Lisbon is easier and more enjoyable in the company of other bicycle riders. Bike4All is an accessible monthly bike ride for anyone who would like to cycle for fun or as a means of daily transport, regardless of their level of experience or confidence.

Our rides bring together experienced cyclists and volunteers who support you along the way, with tips on safety and comfort, tools for minor repairs and good company so you can enjoy a new way of experiencing the city!

We ride calmly, at the pace of the slowest (nobody gets left behind), in areas with gentle slopes and preferably on cycle paths. Afterwards, there is time for a chat and a picnic in the park.

Do you know how to ride a bike but don't feel confident to get around Lisbon on it? Are you looking for company for a relaxing ride? These rides are for you.

How do I join the ride?

The starting point is always in front of Atrium Saldanha

The meeting time is 10 in the morning of the second Sunday of every month, with the start of the ride at 10h15.

If you are running late, let us know in the WhatsApp group before our departure so someone can help you catch up!

Bring water, a picnic if you want, a smile, and your friends!

What if I don't have a (working) bike?

If you have your own bike but it feels neglected, please take it to your nearest Cicloficina session or to a local bike shop during the week before the ride. We will only be prepared for minor adjustments and fixes during the ride.

If you don't have a bike or don't know how to get it to the start, ask us in the WhatsApp group so we can help, Tia Bina has bikes that she can lend. Alternatively, the Gira system is an option, but if you haven't joined yet, sign up early enough to be approved.

We hope this first step will lead to more rides. We have lots of contacts and ideas to support you, from longer rides to help with bike maintenance or planning your commute.

We hope to see you at our next ride!

What happens at the end of the ride?

We always finish the ride with a picnic or at a café so we can get a bite to eat and carry on the conversation.

We are not able to predict acurately what time we will arrive at the picnic spot as it varies quite a lot, but we generally arrive before 13:00.

You can leave the ride then, or head straight back to Saldanha, which will only be a short ride away. A volunteer will be happy to accompany you.

If you need to leave even earlier, you must please make sure that the ride leader knows so we don't start searching for you! We will be happy to help you find the best route back, or accompany you if you wish.
